Every summer, millions of people cross the Strait of Gibraltar during Operation Marhaba (OPE), the system that coordinates the transit of passengers and vehicles between Europe and Morocco.
If you are traveling during this period, planning ahead can help you avoid unnecessary waiting and facilitate the entire boarding process.
During Operation Marhaba (OPE), AML offers:
• Roadside sales points at various locations throughout Spain (click here to see the map).
• Websites amlmaroc.com and aml-ferry.com.
• Offices and ticket offices at operating ports.
• Telephone support for inquiries and booking management (+34 956 63 63 63).
RETURN:
The reservation can be changed during the year, but it is necessary that the reservation is confirmed at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure. Boarding can only be done if the reservation is updated for the exact date of the trip, so it is recommended to modify the reservation in advance to avoid any problems or delays when arriving at the port.
To confirm your reservation in the quickest and most efficient way, send an email to pax.checkin@portferryservices.es or pax.checkin@agecomar.com indicating the new date and the reservation number. Our team will handle your request and send you the ticket confirmation.
This route directly connects the city centers of Tarifa and Tangier and allows you to cross the Strait in less than an hour.
Important points:
• Vehicle access to the port is only permitted when your departure is scheduled within the next 2 hours.
• If you need to purchase or modify a ticket outside of this timeframe, you will have to access the port on foot, as there is limited parking nearby.
• We recommend purchasing or managing any changes before arriving at the port area, at our office located at the entrance to Tarifa (click here to see the map).
This is the most used connection during Operation Crossing the Strait (OPE) thanks to the capacity of both ports and their excellent connection to the Moroccan road network.
Important aspects:
• Access to the pre-boarding areas is reserved for passengers with a scheduled departure within the next 6 hours.
• During peak days, there may be traffic controls and regulated access even before reaching the port.
• If you need to carry out procedures before boarding, it is advisable to do so before entering the port area at our sales and modification point on the A-7 motorway near Los Barrios (click here to see the map).
This route allows you to reach Nador and other towns in eastern Morocco directly without having to cross the north of the country by road.
Important aspects:
• The crossing takes approximately 6 hours.
• The ships have cabins to improve comfort during the journey. • It is recommended to arrive 2 to 3 hours before departure.
• Passengers traveling from Almería must go to the ticket offices to obtain their boarding pass before entering the waiting and boarding areas.
Where to modify or buy tickets?
To avoid unnecessary travel and reduce waiting times, it is recommended to make any purchases or modifications before entering the port areas.
